Angus Hordern

Founder & Director

For nearly three decades, Financial Planner Angus Hordern has been advising clients in the financial services industry. As Founder and Director of Sydney based Hordern Wealth Management, Angus has counselled and supported numerous private and corporate clients in building, maintaining and protecting their financial security.

Supported by an impressive educational background – obtaining his Business Degree from the University of Technology Sydney, and combined with an International Scholarship to Oregon State University, USA – Angus commenced his financial services career in 1990, founding his original business, J. A. Hordern Pty Ltd. Drawing on the skills and expertise gained from advising and managing his clients, Angus acquired his Financial Planning Diploma and resultant certification in 2001, and today holds the Certified Financial Planner  (CFP), the highest international qualification of its type in the industry today.

Angus has dedicated his career to the concept of service, combined with his decade of  service to the Royal Australian Navy and Army Reserves after graduating from high school to his current provision of a highly personalised and professional level of service to his clients.

Angus Hordern has spent his professional lifetime building enduring relationships and partnerships with his clients. He is a well known member of his community, having been educated at Knox Grammar School on Sydney’s north shore and living locally with his wife and two children. On weekends he exchanges finance for football – refereeing school based rugby union games. A military history enthusiast, Angus is also a member of the American Civil War Round Table & the Naval Historical Society & Naval Officers Warfare Association.

Kerrie O’Brien

Advice Manager & Paraplanner

Kerrie O’Brien has more than 15 years’ experience in the Financial Services sector in both the UK and Australia and now applies her dedication, proficiency and expertise to the benefit of Hordern Wealth Management clients.

Having achieved her Economics and Business Law degree at Macquarie University, Kerrie completed her Financial Planning Diploma and worked as a Paraplanner and Technical and Research Manager before relocating to London to broaden her career. Seven years invested in Wealth and Investment Management at Barclays and in Financial Planning at Clear Financial Management in London, equipped Kerrie with a wealth of talent, skills and experience in servicing and advising financial services clients.  During this period Kerrie practised as a Financial Adviser for a period of 4 years.

After returning to Australia, Kerrie resumed work as a paraplanner and compliance specialist.  As Advice Manager for Hordern Wealth Management since 2014, Kerrie is responsible for all paraplanning, report writing, compliance, investment strategy and technical issues in the practice.  She is passionate about Financial Planning and providing a high level service to clients.

A Sydney north shore local, Kerrie is a very community focused person, volunteering her time for many roles and tasks at her sons’ schools and sporting clubs. Kerrie is often invited to join fundraising groups and events, as she is well known for her ‘roll up the sleeves’ attitude and zeal for social justice.

Leigh McGregor

Client Services Manager

With a degree in Business Marketing, Leigh began her career in financial services, specialising in corporate communications and marketing. Over 10 years working in large Financial Services organisations, Leigh held various roles within the Superannuation, IT, Corporate and Public Affairs Office and Financial Planning departments.

Leigh also has a long history of customer-focused service and experience in retail.  Having followed her passion into the world of floristry and becoming a qualified florist in 2012 Leigh worked in floristry in both retail stores and bespoke studios on Sydney’s Northshore.

More recently Leigh has provided high level sales support in her position as Customer Service Manager for a sportswear clothing provider.

Leigh now joins us at Hordern Wealth Management with the opportunity to bring together her many skills in order to provide the highest level of professional support to the team and our valued clients.
